New Patient Podiatry Appointment
At Denby Dale Podiatry, we believe that healthy feet start with a thorough assessment and personalised care.
During your first appointment, one of our experienced Podiatrists will take the time to discuss your foot health concerns, review your medical history and carry out a comprehensive assessment of your feet. Your appointment will also include any appropriate routine podiatry treatment, such as nail cutting, corn removal and hard skin reduction, where required.
We will assess and treat any concerns identified during your visit, providing professional advice and a personalised treatment plan to help keep your feet healthy, comfortable and pain-free.

Routine Podiatry Appointment -
Existing Patient
Our routine podiatry and chiropody appointments are designed to keep your feet healthy, comfortable, and looking their best.
This standard treatment includes careful nail cutting, filing, and reduction of thickness, along with the removal of hard skin, callus, and corns. Your feet are then gently smoothed using specialist sanding techniques, followed by the application of a nourishing foot cream.
These appointments are also ideal if you are experiencing common foot concerns such as athlete’s foot, or cracked heels and fissures. During your visit, we will assess and treat any issues, as well as provide expert advice on ongoing care.
Whether you’re maintaining healthy feet or addressing a specific problem, our routine appointments offer professional, thorough, and personalised care in a comfortable setting.
Nail Surgery - from £295
This procedure is ideal for patients suffering from painful ingrowing toenails, particularly when conservative treatments have not been successful.
Nail surgery is performed under local anaesthetic to ensure your comfort throughout. Before the procedure, your podiatrist will fully explain the treatment, talk you through what to expect, and answer any questions you may have.
The fee covers treatment for one toe and includes all necessary follow-up appointments until the toe has fully healed. You will also be provided with all required dressings to use between visits, ensuring you feel supported throughout your recovery.
Our aim is to provide a safe, effective, and long-term solution, helping you return to pain-free walking as quickly as possible.
MSK & Biomechanics
MSK/Biomechanical Assessment
A musculoskeletal/biomechanical assessment helps to identify the underlying factors contributing to pain, dysfunction or altered movement patterns. The assessment includes a detailed clinical history, walking analysis, joint range-of-motion assessment, muscle strength and flexibility testing - if clinically indicated by our Podiatrist, foot and lower-limb alignment assessment, and evaluation of relevant biomechanical factors.
Findings will be discussed with you, including any contributing factors identified and how these may relate to your symptoms. Where appropriate, an individualised management plan will be provided, which may include footwear advice, exercise and rehabilitation, activity modification, orthotic therapy, or onward referral for further investigation. These appointments may be for you if you are experiencing foot pain, and require diagnosis, treatment plan and management plan.

Steroid Injections
Steroid injections are used to help reduce inflammation and relieve pain associated with certain foot and ankle conditions, such as plantar fasciitis, Morton’s neuroma and joint inflammation. The treatment involves carefully injecting a corticosteroid medication into the affected area to help alleviate discomfort and improve mobility. Our specialist Podiatrist will carry out a thorough assessment to determine whether a steroid injection is appropriate for you, discussing the potential benefits, risks and expected outcomes before proceeding.
Semi-Bespoke Orthotics
Semi-bespoke orthotics are specially selected insoles that can be modified to suit your individual foot shape and biomechanics. They are designed to provide additional support, improve foot function and help relieve discomfort caused by conditions such as plantar fasciitis, flat feet and other biomechanical problems. Following a thorough assessment, our specialist Podiatrist will recommend the most suitable orthotics for your needs.
Bespoke Casted Orthotics
Bespoke casted orthotics are custom-made insoles created specifically for your feet using detailed casts or impressions. They are designed to provide personalised support, improve foot alignment and help redistribute pressure, reducing strain on the feet and lower limbs. Following a biomechanical assessment, our specialist Podiatrist will determine whether bespoke orthotics are appropriate for your individual needs, helping to improve comfort and mobility.

Verruca Treatments
Verruca Treatment with Silver Nitrate
Silver nitrate is a topical treatment used to target verrucae by breaking down the affected skin tissue. During your appointment, your Podiatrist will carefully reduce any overlying hard skin before applying silver nitrate directly to the verruca. The treatment aims to encourage the verruca to resolve, although multiple sessions may be required. Your Podiatrist will assess your verruca and provide advice on the most appropriate treatment plan.
Verruca Needling
An Effective Treatment Option for Stubborn Verruca
At Denby Dale Podiatry Ltd, we offer verruca needling, a specialist treatment designed to help your body's immune system recognise and fight the virus responsible for verrucae.
Verrucae are caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and can be particularly stubborn, sometimes remaining for months or even years. Although many verrucae eventually disappear naturally, some can become painful, spread or cause discomfort when walking.
For patients who have tried other treatments without success, verruca needling may be a suitable alternative.
What Is Verruca Needling?
Verruca needling is a minor surgical procedure performed under local anaesthetic by a qualified podiatrist.
The treatment involves using a fine, sterile needle to repeatedly puncture the verruca tissue. The aim is to introduce viral particles into the deeper layers of the skin, where they may stimulate an immune response against the HPV virus.
Unlike treatments that focus on destroying or removing the verruca from the surface, needling aims to encourage your own immune system to recognise and fight the infection.
In some cases, this immune response may also help the body clear other verrucae elsewhere on the feet, although this is not guaranteed.
What Happens During the Procedure?
1. Initial Assessment
Your podiatrist will carefully examine your verruca, discuss your medical history and assess whether verruca needling is an appropriate treatment option for you.
2. Local Anaesthetic
A local anaesthetic is administered to numb the treatment area, helping to ensure you remain comfortable throughout the procedure.
3. Verruca Needling
Once the area is completely numb, a fine sterile needle is used to puncture the verruca multiple times, with the aim of stimulating an immune response.
4. Dressing and Aftercare
A sterile dressing is applied, and you will receive clear aftercare instructions to help the area heal and reduce the risk of complications.
What Are the Benefits of Verruca Needling?
May be particularly useful for stubborn or persistent verrucae.
Aims to stimulate the body's natural immune response.
Usually requires only one needling procedure initially.
May help clear multiple verrucae through an immune response.
Performed under local anaesthetic for patient comfort.
An alternative for patients who have not responded to conventional treatments.
Is Verruca Needling Painful?
The procedure itself should not be painful once the local anaesthetic has taken effect, although the anaesthetic injection may cause some temporary discomfort.
Following treatment, it is normal to experience some tenderness, bruising or discomfort around the treated area for a few days. Most patients can return to their usual daily activities relatively quickly, although this will depend on the location of the verruca and individual healing.
How Successful Is Verruca Needling?
Verruca needling can be effective for some patients, particularly those with persistent verrucae that have not responded to other treatments.
However, results vary between individuals, and complete clearance cannot be guaranteed. The available clinical evidence is still limited, and further research is needed to establish how effective needling is compared with other treatment options.
It can take several weeks or months to determine whether the treatment has been successful, as the immune system needs time to respond.
Is Verruca Needling Suitable for Everyone?
Not everyone will be suitable for verruca needling. Certain medical conditions, poor circulation, reduced sensation, impaired healing or other health considerations may make the procedure unsuitable.
A full assessment will always be carried out before treatment to ensure that the most appropriate and safest option is recommended.
Fungal Nail Fenestration
Fungal nail fenestration is a treatment designed to help manage fungal toenail infections. The procedure involves creating tiny openings in the affected nail plate, allowing topical antifungal treatments to penetrate more effectively and reach the underlying infection. Our Podiatrist will assess your nails to determine whether this treatment is suitable for you and provide advice on ongoing care. Multiple treatments may be required, and results can vary depending on the severity of the infection.
Specialist Foot Health Assessments
At Denby Dale Podiatry, we offer a range of specialist foot health assessments to help identify potential problems, manage existing conditions and maintain healthy feet. Our experienced Podiatrists provide thorough assessments, personalised advice and appropriate treatment tailored to your individual needs.
Diabetic Foot Assessment
Diabetes can increase the risk of developing foot complications, making regular foot assessments particularly important. Our comprehensive diabetic foot assessment includes checking circulation, sensation, skin integrity and overall foot health to identify any potential risks. We provide personalised advice and recommendations to help prevent complications and keep your feet healthy. A copy of your diabetic foot assessment can be sent to your GP.
Vascular Assessment
A vascular assessment evaluates the blood circulation in your feet and lower limbs. Using specialist equipment, including Doppler ultrasound, our Podiatrists assess blood flow and check for signs of reduced circulation or potential vascular concerns. Early identification of circulation problems is important in maintaining foot health, and we will provide appropriate advice or referrals where necessary. A copy of this assessment can be sent to your GP.
Wound Care
Our wound care service provides professional assessment and treatment of wounds affecting the feet and lower limbs. This may include wound cleansing, appropriate dressings and advice to support healing and reduce the risk of infection. Our Podiatrists will monitor wound progress, identify any underlying concerns and arrange further medical assessment or referral when required.
